The total number of executions carried out at Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad on Saturday has risen to eight with the identification of two brothers from Torbat-e Jam who were put to death on drug-related charges.
According to the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ebrahim Khalili-Far, 40, and Gholamhossein Khalili-Far, 35, from Cheshmeh-Gol village in Razavi Khorasan Province, were executed at dawn on Saturday.
The brothers had been arrested three years ago in a joint case and were later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
These executions add to the six previously reported deaths at the same facility on the same day.
