Iranian Media: Drone Destroyed in South Tehran

Iranian media outlets have reported that a drone was targeted and destroyed by air defense systems in the skies over Tehran.

Mehr News Agency, affiliated with the Islamic Development Organization, reported that what it termed a "hostile drone of the American-Zionist enemy" was targeted and shot down by air defenses in the skies over Tehran.

Minutes after publishing the report on the drone's destruction, Mehr News Agency reported the sound of an explosion in south Tehran, writing that the nature of the sound was not yet clear.

The media outlet has not published further details regarding the location of the explosion in south Tehran, nor any additional information about the type of drone, its exact point of destruction, or potential damage caused by its crash.

Before this, IranWire citizen journalists had reported hearing the sound of air defense systems operating and sighting jet fighters in parts of the Tehran sky, including central and western areas of the capital.
