Clash Between PJAK’s Military Wing and the IRGC in Marivan

The military wing of the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) has issued a statement announcing that armed clashes broke out between the forces of both sides following artillery attacks by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on the border regions of Marivan on Monday, June 8.

In a statement published on June 12, the media center of the East Kurdistan Defense Units (YRK) wrote that the IRGC initiated artillery and mortar attacks against the positions of these forces starting on June 8.

The statement noted that YRK forces responded to these attacks within the framework of “legitimate defense.” It further added that several IRGC forces were killed and wounded during the clashes, while none of the YRK forces sustained injuries.

As of the time of compiling this report, the IRGC and official media outlets of the Islamic Republic have not reacted to these claims, and no official figures or details regarding casualties have been announced.
