A Revolutionary Court in southern Bushehr has sentenced Mohsen Omrani, a board member of the Teachers Union, to one year in prison.
The court charged Omrani with "propaganda against the Islamic Republic," citing several of his social media posts as evidence.
The verdict was recently sent to Omrani following a court session held on July 2.
His case had previously been sent back to the prosecutor's office due to unspecified deficiencies.
He and two other union activists were previously fined by the Bushehr Province Criminal Court for "participating in teachers' union protests."
However, they were later acquitted of these charges by the province's Court of Appeals.
This recent sentence adds to Omrani's history of arrests and convictions related to his union activities.
