Two members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed and three others wounded in clashes with gunmen in western Kurdistan Province.
The public relations office of the IRGC’s Beit al-Moqaddas base in Kurdistan said the members were killed in clashes with people it described as “enemy and anti-revolutionary,” without providing details.
The state-run IRNA news agency, citing informed sources, confirmed that two IRGC members were killed and three wounded.
Rokna news agency reported that armed men attacked a base in Sarvabad, 55 kilometers from Sanandaj, the provincial capital, on Monday afternoon.
The report said the attack on the base in Sarvabad was carried out using hand grenades.
The two killed were identified as Alireza Valizadeh, described as a cleric, and Ayoub Shiri.
