Islamic Republic authorities summoned the brother of a man killed during Iran's 2022-23 Woman, Life, Freedom protests to the Intelligence Ministry in Sanandaj, Iranian Kurdistan, for interrogation.
Voria Fatehi, whose brother Ramin Fatehi was killed during the 2022 demonstrations, was questioned for the third time in the past month, sources told IranWire.
The sources said interrogators in previous sessions threatened Fatehi over his efforts to seek justice and his contacts with the media.
Fatehi has attended memorial ceremonies and peaceful gatherings in recent months, seeking accountability for his brother's death.
The pressure on the Fatehi family comes amid a broader crackdown on families of those killed during protests in Kurdistan province.
Several other families seeking justice in different cities across the region have faced summonses, threats, and interrogations in recent weeks.
The Woman, Life, Freedom movement erupted in September 2022 following the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish woman, in the custody of Iran's morality police.
Iranian authorities have repeatedly pressured families of those killed during the demonstrations, often preventing public memorials and demanding they remain silent about their relatives' deaths.
