Trump: Nobody in Iran Knows Who the Leader Is

On Thursday, April 23, the President of the United States wrote in two separate posts on the social media platform Truth Social about the internal political currents within Iran, stating that no one knows who the leader is. In one of the posts, he wrote, “Iran is having a very hard time figuring out who their leader is! They just don’t know!”

Donald Trump described the state of internal conflict among the remaining officials of the Islamic Republic as “chaotic,” writing: “The infighting is between the ‘Hardliners,’ who have been losing BADLY on the battlefield, and the ‘Moderates,’ who are not very moderate at all (but gaining respect!), is CRAZY!” He continued, “We have total control over the Strait of Hormuz. No ship can enter or leave without the approval of the United States Navy. It is ‘Sealed up Tight,’ until such time as Iran is able to make a DEAL!”

In this post, Trump reaffirmed that the Strait of Hormuz “will remain completely closed” until Iran reaches an agreement. In another message on his social network, the U.S. President wrote that he had ordered the U.S. Navy to fire upon and destroy any boats that plant mines in the Strait of Hormuz, regardless of their size. He further stated that “all 159 of their (Islamic Republic of Iran) navy vessels are at the bottom of the sea.” He wrote, “There will be no hesitation,” and reiterated that American minesweepers “are clearing the Strait of Hormuz right now.” At the end of the message, Trump ordered an increase in the activity of American minesweepers to “three times the current level.”
