United Students Names 15 Students Killed in Iran Protests

According to reports, thousands were killed or injured during the January protests, but the true scale of the crackdown remains unclear due to internet shutdowns and communication blackouts.

The group “United Students” (Daneshjouyan-e Mottahed) has released the names of 15 students killed in the recent protests, saying this is only an initial list and will be updated as more information comes in.

United Students named the victims as Ahmadreza Ghaderi, a Manufacturing Engineering student at Babol Noshirvani University of Technology; Ahmad Khosravani from Sharif University of Technology; Parsa Saffar, a medical student at Mashhad University of Medical Sciences; Rubina Aminian, who studied Textile and Fashion Design at Shariaty Technical College; Aida Heidari, a medical student at Tehran University of Medical Sciences; Zahra Bohloulipour, who studied Italian at the University of Tehran; Danial Mostafavi from Karaj; Khaled Mollaei from Bandar Abbas; Amir-Ali Zarei from the University of Art; Yasin Mirzaei-Ghal’eh-Zanjiri, a Geophysics student in Italy; Ali Zanganeh, an Electrical Engineering student; Sorena Golgoun, a Mechanical Engineering student; Zahra Mahmoudpour from Amirkabir University of Technology; Alireza Rafiei-Rad, an Electronics student; and Arya Arjamandi, a Psychology student.
