The Teachers’ Union Council channel reported that Asghar Hajeb and Reza Amanifar, board members of the Bushehr Teachers’ Guild Association and members of the Coordinating Council of Iranian Teachers’ Trade Associations, remain in the custody of security forces.
According to the report, these two activists, both of whom have a history of prior arrests, were detained again during a fresh wave of crackdowns on labor and union activists. Thus far, no specific details regarding their place of detention, legal proceedings, or current condition have been released.
The Teachers’ Union Council noted that the activities of these two teachers have focused on education, pursuing professional demands, and striving to improve the quality of instruction. Concerns have also been raised regarding the physical health of Asghar Hajeb. He is currently recovering from open-heart surgery, and a lack of adequate access to medical services could pose a serious risk to his health.
